How to play Bamboozle
Here’s how to play Bamboozle: answer ten multiple-choice questions, each with four coloured answers and twenty seconds on the clock. It’s a daily quiz in the style of the old Teletext games, free to play online.
Everyone gets the same ten questions each day, and you score for speed as well as for being right. Below you’ll find the rules, how scoring works, some tips and answers to common questions.
The basics
Bamboozle is a daily quiz in the style of the old Teletext games. Ten multiple-choice questions, four coloured answers, twenty seconds on each one.
Answering
- Tap an answer (A, B, C or D), or on a keyboard press A–D or 1–4.
- You have twenty seconds for each question. If the bar runs out, it counts as wrong.
- You see straight away whether you were right, then the next page loads.
Scoring
- A right answer is worth 100 points.
- Be quick and you earn up to 50 more: the full 50 for answering inside a second, one point less for every fraction of a second after that, and nothing after fifteen seconds.
- Get all ten right and there’s a 100 point bonus, so a perfect game is worth up to 1,600.
The daily quiz
- Everyone gets the same ten questions each day. It changes at midnight GMT and you get one ranked go. Your score goes on today’s leaderboard.
- Want more? Play as many practice quizzes as you like: ten random questions that don’t count towards the leaderboard.

- Your daily score is saved to your profile and ranked against everyone else’s that day. Guests can play; sign up free to put your score on the board.
Beginner tips
- Don’t rush the first read. Speed bonuses are worth up to 50 points, but a wrong answer scores nothing, so make sure you’ve read all four options.
- Rule out the silly ones. There’s usually one answer that’s clearly wrong and another that’s nearly right, which leaves you a quick choice between two.
- Go for the perfect ten. Getting every question right earns a 100 point bonus, which is worth more than all the speed points put together.
