Free online arcade games on Beat Pete
Beat Pete’s arcade is a collection of free retro-style games you can play in your browser or on your phone with no download and no coins: a maze-chase game, a classic snake game, a space shooter, a falling-blocks puzzle and more, with new games added over time.
There are two kinds of game. The score games, like Snake, Chomper and Invaders, are about the high score: how far can you get before you run out of lives? The ladder games, like Bomberman, Tank Duel and Penalty Shootout, pit you against ten computer characters, from a gentle beginner up to Pete. Beat one to unlock the next.
Every game has its own leaderboard, so you can see how you compare with other players. Create a free account to save your scores, earn rewards and challenge friends.
Arcade questions
Are the arcade games free?
Yes. Every game on Beat Pete is free to play in your browser, on your phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to download or pay for.
Which arcade game should I play first?
Snake and Chomper are the easiest to pick up: steer, eat and survive. If you prefer a challenge against a character, try one of the ladder games and work your way up the ten opponents.
How do the controls work on a phone?
Each game shows on-screen controls for touch: a swipe or a d-pad to move and a button for actions such as dropping a bomb or firing. On a computer, use the arrow keys or W, A, S and D, plus the space bar.
What is the difference between a score game and a ladder game?
A score game ranks you by your best score. A ladder game has ten computer opponents: beat a character to unlock the next one, all the way up to Pete, and the leaderboard shows the toughest opponent you have beaten.
Are my scores saved?
Yes, once you create a free account. Your best scores appear on each game’s leaderboard and on your profile.
